Development Associate

Department: Development

Location: Bronx, NY

The Development Associate will provide support for the CCFY’s development, fundraising, marketing and strategic communication. The Development Associate will report to the Deputy Director and will work closely with the Executive Director to implement CCFY’s development strategy. The Development Associate will be primarily responsible for grant writing, drafting proposals and submitting applications to foundations, corporations, and public funding sources. The Development Associate will also be responsible for writing strategic communication for CCFY, including newsletters, organizational reports, web copy, social media, brochures, position papers, and other forms of writing. The Development Associate will maintain both electronic and hard copy files of CCFY’s development activities. The Development Associate will research potential contributors to CCFY and develop a timetable of submission deadlines for proposals to funders. The Development Associate will also be responsible for maintaining communication with CCFY members and individual donors. The Development Associate will also be expected to develop fluency in CCFY’s training and technical assistance materials, conducting training, workshops, and seminars when necessary. The Development Associate will also provide administrative support to the Deputy Director and the Executive Director when necessary.

Responsibilities

Write strategic communication for the organization, including reports, newsletters, brochures, web content, and social media
Coordinate CCFY’s membership campaign and maintain communication with members/donors
Research foundations, corporate philanthropy, and other funding sources
Develop and maintain CCFY’s development calendar, ensuring that proposals and reports are submitted in a timely fashion
Write proposals requesting funding to foundations, corporations, and other funding sources
Manage CCFY’s Individual Donor database and communication with individual donors
Maintain CCFY’s Development document archive
Assist with various administrative and programmatic duties as needed.

Qualifications

Exceptional writing ability
Bachelors degree in humanities, social sciences, or related field
Strong marketing savvy and experience managing campaigns
Graphic design and layout competencies; website management a plus
Excellent research skills
Strong verbal communication skills
Competency with social media platforms
Experience with proposal writing and grant-writing research
Familiarity with the South Bronx community a plus
Commitment to youth development, community development, and social justice
Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed
