Community Connections for Youth -- Training & Technical Assistance

the issue

CCFY believes that equipping local community organizations to work effectively with youth in the juvenile justice system is the key to sustainable reform. CCFY provides the following training and technical assistance services:

ATI Training Institute
Community Connections for Youth offers a 3-day intensive training institute that brings key stakeholders together to develop a basic framework for understanding the keys to effective alternative-to-incarceration programming for youth in the juvenile justice system. Participants learn principles of effective service delivery and develop plans for program implementation. For more information click here.

ATI Training Toolkit
Community Connections for Youth provides organizations with a complete starter kit of forms and documents essential to tracking outcomes for court-involved youth. Forms include intake and assessment templates, court reporting templates, and methods to track participation, attendance, and achievement of goals.

Capacity Building Institute
CCFY's Capacity Building Institute is a project to assist grassroots faith and community organizations with developing the organizational management capacity needed to grow strong programs and be competitive for funding. Over a 6-month period, the Institute meets for workshops on the following topics:

    Governance & Board Development
    Financial Management
    Employee Management & HR Issues
    Fundraising & Development
    Strategic Planning
    Program Evaluation

In addition to monthly workshops, an expert consultant develops a strategic plan with each participant and provides follow-up 1-on-1 technical assistance each month.
