Khalid McKenzie is CCFY’s SBCC Coordinator/Intervention Specialist. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Khalid has established himself as a prominent figure in the community. As a credible messenger, his experiences and learnings have allowed him to establish relationships with young people across the borough that is immeasurable.
As an Intervention Specialist, Mr. McKenzie has helped young people transition from the juvenile justice system back into society by connecting youth to different alternatives in the community that gradually helps them in the process of transitioning into becoming productive young citizens in society. Also, as Intervention Specialist, Khalid works with groups of young people in the public school system using Restorative Justice practices to create alternatives to suspending youth for minor infractions and also effect change in the school to prison pipeline.
