Celebrating Rosanne Placencia-Knepper & Announcing Belinda Ramos as Director of Training & Technical Assistance
Rosanne Placencia-Knepper joined CCFY in 2010, shortly after the organization launched. She first served as a volunteer intern, but was quickly hired as a fulltime staff due to her exceptional abilities and work ethic. She served as a Program Associate for the South Bronx Community Connections (SBCC) program, assisting with youth and family work, research and evaluation, and training. When the organization expanded into the field of external training and technical assistance, we needed a versatile and multitalented individual to lead that new venture. Rosanne stepped into a leadership role and became CCFY’s first Director of Training & Technical Assistance, growing the Department into a high performing team managing multiple government and private contracts, and developing cutting-edge curriculum-based training. A connector at heart, Rosanne is beloved by CCFY’s staff and the many individuals she has trained through the ARCHES & NEXT STEPS Transformative Mentoring Interventions, CCFY’s ATI Training Institute, and countless others who have been blessed by her intelligence and kindness. After nearly six years with CCFY, Rosanne is moving on to launch Cumpanis, a social entrepreneurship venture that will focus on increasing access to quality home-cooked meals by conducting cooking classes and running food workshops for local youth and families in Mott Haven. Rosanne will conclude her tenure at CCFY on May 6, 2016, but will continue to facilitate “community connections” for youth and families, empowering disenfranchised individuals to start their own businesses through Cumpanis. We at CCFY look forward to witnessing Rosanne’s success and partnering with her and Cumpanis in the future.
We are also thrilled to announce that Belinda Ramos will step into the role of Director of Training & Technical Assistance at CCFY. Belinda joined CCFY in 2014 and immediately made an impact as a Training Coordinator, equipping Credible Messengers with the skills to facilitate mentoring groups for youth. Belinda has extensive experience in training and curriculum development in the academic research and public policy sector. With a Masters degree in Psychology, she has put her education to use in Children’s Mental Health Research aimed at affecting public policy at statewide and national levels. She was the director and lead trainer of the Parent Empowerment Program, a Columbia University/National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant funded initiative designed to strengthen the efficacy of family peer advocates in the work that they do with parents of children with special needs. She has continued consulting in curriculum adaptations geared at promoting community engagement and family empowerment within clinical settings, the NYC Department of Education, and citywide Parent Resource Centers. Her work has been published with Oxford University Press and various scientific journals. Having worked closely with Rosanne for the last two years, Belinda is ready to take over the reins of the Training Department. CCFY has every confidence that she will effectively and strategically lead our work to the next level in her tenure as Director.
Please join CCFY in welcoming Belinda Ramos as our new Director of Training & Technical Assistance.
