Demetria Frampton is a newly hired Peer Parent Coach for Community Connections For Youth. Demetria officially joined the organization on March 1,2014. She has been an active parent on a volunteer basis and gained some of her knowledge by going through her own personal experience with her grandchild who introduced her to the program. Prior to joining CCFY, Demetria joined the South Bronx Aim Program as a Parent/Youth Advocate in December of 2012. Demetria realized that when she was trying to navigate the court system on her own there was much she didn’t know. She received help and became better informed. Through this newfound knowledge she realized that there is a need for other parents to receive the same support that she has and is pleased to be allowed the opportunity to dedicate herself to this cause. Demetria is a retired NYC Dept. Of Corrections Officer who served for 26yrs. Demetria is in the process of pursuing a Degree in Correction Administration, which she hopes to use one day in improving the system that is no good for our youth. She has attended many open forums on Juvenile Justice and continues to enjoy being on the panels. She is a native New Yorker and plans on staying here for the time being.
