PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH

With generous support from the New York Foundation, CCFY youth interns conducted their own research into the impact of the juvenile justice system on the local community.  The youth utilized a methodology known as Participatory Action Research (PAR).  PAR is an approach to research that emphasizes reflection, data collection, and action.  The youth designed an extensive survey and spent several months interviewing dozens of local youth in their experience in the juvenile justice system.  After analyzing the results of the survey, the interns developed a formal report of their findings, and then designed a social media campaign to spread their findings.  On February 24, 2016, the youth interns will be presenting their findings to the public at BronxArtSpace. We will post additional information with all the details. Visit us again in January!
